Sweet Rosewater Lassi
Lassi is a sweet or spicy drink originally from the Punjab region of the Indian sub-continent. It’s very quick and easy to make. No hassle at all. It is made by blending yoghurt with water, salt, and spices (depending on the type of lassi) until the drink becomes frothy.
Ingredients:
- Combine 500 ml (2 cups) buttermilk or yogurt with 500 ml (2 cups) water. You can use a blender or whip it with a whisk, it really doesn’t make much difference.
- Add 30 g (2 tbsp.) sugar, 1 tsp. rose water and a couple of drops of the food colouring.
- Pour into a glass, sprinkle with cinnamon on top and enjoy!

Lassi has a slight but refreshing tartness which cleanses the palate alongside traditionally spicier Asian foods. It also aids digestion and is a healthy addition to any balanced diet.
Some people like to add fruit to their lassi – usually banana or mango, both of which give the drink a nice creamy boost.
Rating: 2 good spanks because I managed to spill the mixture all down my front!

Hey CK, I’m a huge fan of lassies. Especially mango lassies. Mmmmmm…..

Oooh. Sounds interesting. I’ve never used rosewater before. I would probably use it as perfume.

Yeah, mango just about anything rocks my socks, Svasti =)

Yes, that’s mostly how it comes across in flavour, Emiline. It can be rather heady, actually. Nice though – adds something a bit special. It was originally a sign of absolute luxury.

*laughing so hard at spillage*
Mango=Yum!
I think my most delicious experience was a Mango Daiquiri! It was so good I was probably pretty lucky I didn’t spill it all over myself as well! In fact, I ordered several so even luckier?
But this sounds good too… *grin*

LOL Yet another reason to visit Australia, PA. Mangoes are hella cheap here, by the box even. So fresh and good. We pride ourselves on our mangoes

PA ticks of yet another box on checklist…
*winks back*

Oooh! This sounds so expensively decadent! Rosewater … very romantic.
To join in the mango fun, however — I once lived in a house with a dozen different types of mango trees. I made mango wine with a huge glass jug and a Mickey Mouse balloon on top! It worked just fine.

G’day Georganna! Thanks for stopping by =) Yes, it is utterly decadent. It’s brilliant
But bomemade mango wine! Now that sounds truly delectable.

Hah! I thought the wine better than the mangoes — no one in my family liked them. I sold them off my front porch on the honor system and made $120 that summer in the 1970s.
